I love teaching here at Sunset Lake Elementary! I would like to start with a little information about myself.
Though this year will be my second year at Sunset Lake, I started my teaching career in Lehigh Acres, Florida. Lehigh Acres is a suburb of Fort Myers in Lee County. I taught kindergarten for 2 years and loved every minute of it!
My family is from Michigan, and though I had an amazing experience in Florida, I missed them tremendously. When my husband was offered a job in the Zeeland area, we were very happy to come home and raise our toddler in the same loving and uniquely Michigan environment we were accustomed to.
I am a Michigan State graduate. Go green! My major was elementary education with a minor in social studies. Before that I earned a degree in graphic design which I utilized in the private sector for about 10 years before pursuing my teaching degree.
I have a passion for creativity, technology and literacy. I use as many opportunities as I can to enhance the content and classroom environment with a sprinkling of all three. My goal is to set high, yet reasonable, expectations and guide my students to success.
We are all a team! I look forward to meeting each and every one of my students and talking with parents about how we can achieve the success that I know all my students are capable of.
